Caesar defied the mos maiorum in 44 B.C.,he put his own portrait on silver denarii issued for circulation in Rome. This offended Roman sensibilities,as such honors were typ. reserved for dead ancestors, not living men. This was one of the long list of things that led Brutus and his conspirators to assassinate Caesar several weeks later. Well circulated coin with a still a nice portrait of the famous Julius Caesar. Ob: laureate head right, crescent behind.

Coins of Pyrrhos short reign come seldom to the market. Around 280 B.C. King Pyrrhus invaded Sicily from Italy. He was a mastermind of tactics. Some of his quotes became legendary, after a big battle against Rome,he said:"another such a victory and we are ruined." The purpose of Pyrrhos`s invasion is not yet clear, when he left Sicily he said:"What a battlefield we leave to Romans and Carthaginians!".

CAIUS JULIUS CAESAR GERMANICUS CALIGULA
A holed bronze As of Caligula from the Eastern Empire. The hole was done while Caligula reigned,it is fully sintered and not new. Another proof for the cult of Caligula, which was worshipped as a God.
A view under my microscope shows a lot of sinter around the hole.
